Dear Parrot Lover,
Welcome to my new Parrot Blog.I am sure all the Parrot lovers across the globe will be have a great time while interacting through this Blog.
Today I am going to reveal some important facts on Parrot’s biting that all parrot owners should know. Read on to know about them in details:
Parrots that bite are not very valued members of any human household. It is very upsetting to any Parrot owner when their Parrot starts biting them and, in most cases, often leads to the Parrot being neglected in their cages because their owners are afraid to handle them.
Honestly, once an owner has been bitten by their Parrot they are usually a lot more weary of their Parrot. However there are some very simple steps to take in stopping your Parrot from biting you.
First try to take note of the situation that your Parrot is in when he does bite you.
In most cases, Parrots will bite because their owners are trying to make them do something that they do not want to do. Such as being placed back in their cage when they still want to play some more. This could be easily fixed by creating a daily playtime routine for your Parrot.
Bring your Parrot out of his cage for a set amount of time at roughly the same time each day. Your Parrot will soon understand when playtime is over and some Parrots will usually end up walking or flying over to their cages on their own when they sense that playtime is over.
Have you ever been bitten by your parrot when you are trying to get him to step off your shoulder?
Well firstly, parrots love high places and your shoulder is the perfect height for them so, no, your parrot is not going to want to leave your shoulder, and secondly, just because you want to spend time with your parrot right now, doesn’t mean that your parrot wants to spend time with you right now.
Try to avoid allowing your Parrot to sit or ride around on your shoulder. To him, your shoulder is just another perch and your head can get in his way. You need to show your Parrot that you are the flock leader by making sure that your head is always higher than theirs. If your Parrot is on your shoulder he is at the same height as your head and a dominance struggle
Or perhaps, you want to spend time with your parrot and you reach into his cage to get him out and he bites you?
Is your Parrot in a round or circular cage? Did you know that placing your parrot in a round cage is a surefire way of setting him up to be a nervous parrot?
Nervous parrots like to bite to protect themselves! Parrots who live day in and day out in a round cage do not have a corner to which he can feel protected and secure. Many experts discourage owners from buying round cages as this disorientates the bird and makes them anxious. Your parrot will literally be ‘going around in circles’ in its own cage and this can make them quite irritable!

All Parrots exhibit warning signs prior to biting their owners. The most common signs to watch out for are your Parrot pinning his eyes or fluffing
out his feathers.
Be vigilant around your Parrot. Make sure that you are not over-stepping your Parrot/Human boundaries. If you happen to get bitten by your Parrot, try not to scream, as this will teach your Parrot a new trick: that biting you is rewarded with your loud vocalizations.
